Things to Do in Long Branch
Long Branch, NJ
Long Branch is a historic, bustling shore town in New Jersey that provides plenty of great shopping, dining, entertainment, and outdoor activity year-round. For those living in a winter rental in Long Branch this year, here is a short list of just a few places and events in and near Long Branch that are not to be missed.
Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park
Before snow hits the sand, take a stroll on Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park. In 1869, President Grant visited this beach and named Long Branch the nation’s “Summer Capital.” The beach was also visited by Presidents Hayes, Garfield, Arthur, Harrison, McKinley, and Wilson.
Seven Presidents remains a popular spot for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors at the Jersey Shore. On the off-season, this beautiful beach offers the perfect peaceful spot for talking walks and getting some fresh salt air.
The Skateplex at Seven Presidents is open year-round, offering a bowl and a series of quarter pipes, wedges and fun boxes for skateboarders and in-line skaters. The Skateplex also features a paved trail, open play areas, restrooms, drink vending machines, and an open shelter with tables.
The West End Farmers’ Market
The West End Farmers’ Market takes place every Thursday, rain or shine, from 12–6 pm in the Municipal parking lot at 139 Brighton Avenue in the West End Section of Long Branch. This farmers’ market runs until December, so for those early winter renters, locally and organically grown food is available until the end of the fall season. Check out the farmers market and take home the best food and flowers that Long Branch has to offer.
Sea Bright Day
In the nearby town of Sea Bright, on October 17, Sea Bright Day will celebrate “The Little Town that Could.” Sea Bright was struck hard by Hurricane Sandy several years ago, but has bounced back with spirit. Come out to celebrate the town and enjoy food and music, a book sale, craft show, and much more.
Pier Village
Pier Village on Ocean Avenue is a hub for shopping, dining and entertaining.
Pier Fest, which will run from October 10-11 between 1-5 pm, will feature sidewalk sales, live entertainment, and fun activities for the whole family. Stop by to shop on a budget, enjoy music from great local musicians, and visit crafters and vendors.
And don’t miss the beautiful holiday lighting event at Pier Village on Ocean Avenue in December, when the holiday lights brighten up the cold coast.
Pink Elephant Pottery
The colder months are the perfect time to stay inside and get artistic. Pink Elephant Pottery, located on the West End of Long Branch, offers the perfect opportunity to paint and create. Visitors can pop in to paint pottery, or can sign up for classes. Artists at Pink Elephant Pottery can teach novices about glass fusion, mosaic tiling, candle making and canvas painting.
