Holidays at the Jersey Shore: Fun for Everyone

There is so much to do at the Jersey Shore during the holiday season. Though the beach may be chilly, there’s still plenty of fun to be had in NJ’s beautiful beach towns.

Breakfast with Santa at the Jersey Shore

This Saturday, December 12, visit the Highlands’ Robert D. Wilson Community Center at 22 Snug Harbor Avenue for breakfast with Santa. This free event is perfect for the little boys and girls who are eagerly anticipating Santa’s arrival in a few weeks! From 9 am — 11 am, children and their families can enjoy breakfast and taking photos with Santa, courtesy of the Highlands Recreation Department.

If you can’t make it to the Highlands for breakfast with Santa on Saturday, you have another chance! On Sunday, December 13, from 9:00 am — 12: 00 pm, Branches Catering at 123 Monmouth Road in West Long Branch will be hosting its own breakfast with Santa. Reserve a spot ahead of time at Branches’ website and bring a toy to donate to Catholic Charities.

Menorah Lighting & Chanukah Celebration at the Jersey Shore

A Menorah Lighting will be taking place at Memorial Park in Fair Haven at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 13. Come to the corner of River Road and Fair Haven Road to celebrate the Festival of Lights with your friends and neighbors. Later on Sunday, you can head over to Ocean Township Town Hall at 5:30 pm for a Chanukah Celebration. Feel free to bring a donation of canned food for their food pantry.

Holiday Shopping at the Jersey Shore

For those who haven’t yet finished their holiday shopping, or who want a warm destination to end their walk on the boardwalk, the Asbury Park Bazaar is open every Saturday and Sunday through December 20th. This Pop-Up Holiday Market in the Grand Arcade of Convention Hall has something for all ages–with tons of local vendors selling beautiful goods, hot beverages and treats, free holiday music and pictures with Santa in front of a beautiful twinkly tree, this is your one stop shop to please the whole family. And if you want to give back, you can bring a donation for the Asbury Park Toy & Coat Drive.

If you will be at the Jersey Shore all holiday season, be sure to check out Monmouth County Tourism’s Calendar of Events and don’t forget about New Year’s Eve–BestofNJ.com might be able to point you in the direction of your perfect Jersey Shore New Year’s Eve celebration!
